Gulliver's Travels chapter5 P45-52 by Leo

In chapter 5, Gulliver heard the story about the enemy of Lilliput, Blefuscu. He went to the northest coast waterway to see the enemy. Two empires forbided the communication. Then he had a plan to seizing the enemy's entire navy. First, he used a telescope to look around the enemy's warships, and checked that are they at anchor. Then he back to his house and tooka great quantity of the strongest cable and bars of iron. He put them together to be a hoks. He got back to the northest coast to reached the enemy's fleet. He faten a hook to each ship. Then wound all the cords together and pull them away. However, he give up to pull the fleet, and they ail back to attack the emperor's fleet. The emperor was angred at him. After three weeks, a delegation from Blefuscu arrived with peace. It's Lilliput's victory.

This chapter is very exciting. I love the war. Both of them had their scheme and powerful force.50warships vs Gulliver. But if i were Gulliver, i won;t help the enemy. Maybe i am not as kind as him

Why did the enemy surrender to Lilliput? Why did they attack in the first place?
