Thank you all for your hard work on the blog this quarter. I hope you all enjoyed your books, and were able to improve your reading skills. I also hope that you will continue to read in English! I'll be happy to recommend a book, if anyone is looking for something else to read.

Harry Potter and Sorcerer's Stone (CH3) Damian
Expectation is very high. outside was rainy.Wind whistled though the gaps in the wooden walls andrattled the filthy(not good... you know :D) windows.at that moment, someone knocked on the door.Technically, it's impossible to reach someone to here now.However there was a man who was wearing a hood and got a weird beard and mustache.He said his name is Hagrid the keeper of the key at Hogwarts.Hogrid told Harry about his mom and dad, who was the best wizard and witch in their world.And he is saying Harry is the son of them.Therefore he wanted to take him to his witch craft school.That's why he sent a lot of letters to his house.Dusley tried to forbid him to tell the truth.He and his wife already knew Harry is going to be a wizard and his parent's story.But Hogrid turned them into pigs and went to sleep to prepare tomorrow.
A Christmas Carol
"A Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens. Page 229-239.
Summary: Early the next morning Scrooge arrived at his office early. He sits on the chair and wait his partner. When Bob Cratchit comes in, he is really surprised. Because he is always late to go office. However, Scrooge doesn't mind his partner Bob Cratchit was late even though Bob Cratchit says sorry many times. And Scrooge knows his family is poor, so he forces him to back out of the office, and Scrooge will raise his salary. Bob thinks he never says that and always ask himself " Has Scrooge lost his mind?" And then Scrooge says Merry Christmas to Bob. And he gives a christmas wish. He not only raise his salary, but also try to help his family. Also he gives a Christmas drink of hot port wine and raise the fire and get more heat in office for Bob. He is touched and thinks he is a good boss. Finally, lots of people love Scrooge because he becomes a helpful, friendly,cheerful person. At Christmas day, Srooge says" God bless us, everyone."
Opinion: Iam glad i finish the whole book and Scrooge changes his behavior. The book has a happy ending. And Scrooge becomes a good boss and nice person.

Robin Hood chapter8(page 90 -page 100)
Summary:one fine day not long after Little John quit working for the Sheriff,Robin Hood remember that it is almost Midsummer Day, they have to run out of Lincoln green cloth.they have to go to Nottingham Town where they can sell something.at the same time,Arthur went to Nottingham Town to sell some tanned cowhides. one man of Robin Hood 's band hits a man who is saying something that is impolite.And Arthur thinks that the man want to fight,of course,Arthur wants to fight with the man,and Little John didn't know what happened before,and he joined the fight.At last,Robin Hood stops the fight,and also he ask Arthur to join his band.
opinion: many fights because of something misunderstanding,and also from this chapter we can summarize that we should not angry easily,we should know what happen before,and also the reason of the fight.in this chapter,Little John and Arthur are irrtable,they don't know what happen before the fight.And also, Robin Hood is calm, he will do the first thing is to find out what happen before,and try to stop the fight as soon as possible.i think we can learn from Robin Hood.

BLACK BEAUTY

Jerry Barker, who was new owner of Black Beauty, was very good and kind to me. His sons always tried to work with him, and one of them whose name was Harry was a good stable worker. Jerry didn't like to loiter and wast time and was against driving hard for careless people to make up for their lateness because he didn't want to whip his horses for that people. But he agreed willingly with hurrying for a good reason. He seldom used the wip and always tried to communicate to his horses with his voice, click and the rein. That's why Black Beauty could trust him. He must be the man Black Beauty desired as his owner.
This story made me happy because Black Beauty could find his good owner. While his previous one didn't think about him, Jerry was kind to not only his horses but also his neighbor. In this story, someone said,"Good Luck mostly prefers those who have common sense and a good heart". I really agree with it.

Little Women P.197-239 (ch 20-24)
Sammary: Ch 20-24, Laurie went to France and visited Amy. Amy discovered He changed a lot. He became more lazy and miserable because of Jo. Amy lectured Laurie and he took her advices. On the other hand, Beth was really sick. Later, she dead. It was the worst news they had ever met. After Amy knew that, she was so depressed. Luckily, Laurie was in France, He could comforted her. Because of that, Amy interested in Laurie, and he thought Amy could fill Jo's place.
Amy and Lauire went back to their home. Jo was so sad that time, because of Beth. After she knew about Amy and Lauire, she felt more lonely. When she was not in a good shape, Mr. March came and surprised her.Finally , they were together.
Opinion: I think it was a sad news about Beth. Everyone had a happy ending, but except Beth. I think one of the problems is that Beth was too shy to show her love. If her character likes Jo, she may make lots of friends. She may be better.
On the other hand, the ending of Amy and Lauire was surprised me. I think Jo and Laurie may not feel very comfortable when they meet in the future.

The Phantom Tollbooth By Norton Juster Page 150~200
After they meet the doctor and Dynne, Milo goes to a place called The Silent Valley where has no sound. People in here are sad because they want to hear the sound no keep silence everyday. They ask Milo to help them to carry a little sound from the Soundkeeper who lives in a great stone fortress. They also tell Milo because long long ago people use sound always in a wrong way and the doctor and Dynne give people a medicine and make there just has noisy, they take beautiful sound . Then make Soundkeeper anger and take out all of the sound. Milo feels sad about this and accept to help them. Then Milo, Tock and Bug begin to see the Soundkeeper. When they meet the Soundkeeper, she tells Milo now she like keep ailence because people always creat some noisy. And she takes Milo to see the sound that she keeps and show him how to invent the new sound and how to collect sound. Milo tries to keep a little sound in his tongue and go back to the valley. He put the sound to the bottom, then every sound comes out. Everyone becomes so happy inspect the Soundkeeper. Until Dynne gives every beautiful sound back, Soundkeeper becomes so happy and then she is crying. After say bye to them, they begin to go another place. During their way, they go to an island called Conclusion. There has an odd man who don't know who he is. After help him, they know why they come here due to jump like people who is so lazy and just jump to the conclusion. After a long way for swimming, thay run away from the island. Then they meet Dodecahedron who has different faces. He takes them to see the king who is in the cave. After a big meal, they all feel more hungry. Everything they tell Milo all make him becomes more confusing. After that, he also meet a child called .58 who is from a family about average. He tells Milo why we need the average but still make Milo confusing. After all of these, Milo feels everything for him is so hard.
This part is so long but i still find some thing make me think deeply. The first thing is the Soundkeeper think every sound must be stop just because they have some sound not nice. I don't agree with her because i think one thing always have two different parts. We can't just think the bad part then threw away all of the thing. We need to change the bad part to another place that thay are useful. And combine with the right part, that is the correct way. Also, the odd man who lives in the island, his words also make me think more, he says that people always ignore the middle part and just jump to the conclusion when they are meeting any difficult. That is really true. When i study, i also do like that. Now i feel so sorry about this and i hope i also can face the problem that i meet not just try to jump. Now i find that is really a good book and teach me more about our life. Thank you for the good book, Wendy.
